How might we solve the problem that young people and students always don't know what to eat every day?
“When I was studying abroad, I found it’s really difficult to decide what to cook every day. I usually spent 2 hours preparing food and cooking, but it only takes me 5 minutes to eat. I feel like it’s a common problem for all young people.”
I attempted to design a solution that would help customers have fun in the kitchen, save prep time, and learn to cook delicious meals without the daily stress of meal planning.
Analyzing existing food box subscriptions to define a competitive and highly tailored service.
I found that surprisingly there was no prevalent food box subscription service in China at the time. So I analyzed several famous food box subscription websites in America (grocery boxes, pre-made food, baking, snacks).
Most food boxes are designed for two people or more. However, people who live alone also drastically need such services, because they can't buy a lot of food at one time and it’s difficult to cook the right amount without wasting ingredients.
Structuring the scenario, mapping the overall solution, and sketching wireframes.
With the concept direction set, I began creating wireframes and developing iterations of the key features.
