Project brief

From chronicle to poster

Rocket history is dense with dates and engineering detail. The design goal was to distill three distinct stories into posters that read in seconds yet reward a longer look—using strong silhouettes, directional composition, and a controlled palette so each episode feels related but not repetitive.

Most episodes pair a motion poster (trajectory, timing, energy) with a static print for texture, line work, and typography at full resolution; the finale is motion-led, with the series hero image tying the set together on the wall.

Design intent

Episode 01

Lift & ignition

The first piece establishes upward energy and anticipation: composition pulls the eye along the rocket’s path, while motion accents ignition and early ascent—mirroring the moment history turns from theory to flight.

Episode 02

Velocity & scale

The second story widens the frame: contrast, repetition, and speed cues suggest industrial power and escalation. Motion uses rhythm and camera-like movement; the print locks the final graphic statement for wall display.

Episode 03

Orbit & horizon

The closing episode shifts toward continuity and perspective—curved paths, negative space, and a calmer cadence. Motion emphasizes orbit and horizon as a bookend to the series; the two static prints above carry the fine-line craft for the first two stories at full scale.
