Understanding the current shopping process, finding pain points, and investigating existing market solutions.
I mapped out a user journey of a typical buy-things-together process to visualize areas where pain points might arise.
To understand the problem scope and the shared shopping experience, I conducted 5 interviews with 4 students and 1 young professional.
I observed several money split apps that help users to calculate money and split bills. Also, I found out some similar functions from Uber, Meituan, and Airbnb.
With our concept direction set, I began developing wireframes and features, generating solutions to overcome the identified difficulties.
I developed various iterations of the key features and began gathering feedback from several classmates.
The final module improves the user experience of roommates shopping together online, helping them collaborate on purchases and split bills effortlessly.
